BRIEF HISTORY :
The course is only about 6 years old so is still very much a maturing course but in it's short time it's really turned some serious heads with its classic links style in a perfectly picked location with rugged terrain and splendid scenery just a hop and skip down the road from a number of quality courses and a little drive from Shannon Airport. The clubhouse and facilities help also. They don't turn heads, they make you dizzy. They are breathtaking.
INTERESTING FACT :
The construction of the course was delayed and the design was amended to preserve a species of microscopic snail called the Vertigo Angustior. Also in the pairing at the official opening of the course were Greg Norman and Padraig Harrington, this was to be repeated as the last group in the British Open in 2008. In the opening Norman had better fortune than in the Open and won 2&1.
