WATER :
Right of the tee box and of the fairwayside marsh. Then in front of the green there's a greenside pond just to the right of the first bunker that you see. The water on this hole definitly comes into play here.
OUT OF BOUNDS :
All the way right of the fairway until you get to the pond in front of the green. If you hit the ball in here then it's not a case of not being able to play it from there the land is an area of conservation and if the ball ends up in there then you can't even go near the place so get out your provisionals.
BUNKERS :
There's 2 bunkers by the green. Both nicely positioned. There's one just left of the pond and another left of the green. These will come into play on the approach to the green.
TREES :
All the way left once you hit the dogleg. The ones right of the fairway are out of bounds so don't worry about those. They do tighten up the fairway though so they are there for a reason.
TEE SHOT :
Another one here that offers you a choice. For the brave ones you can try to take as much out of the corner as possible. For those who are a bit more sensible or cannot handle another dodgy shot after making the wrong decision on the last 2 holes then aim out left and don't go too straight as if you hit it too well it's uphill to the trees.
APPROACH SHOT :
If you take the sensible option an lay up near the green it's a tricky entrance with the bunkers guarding the green with the pond on the right to make sure that you need to keep the lay up well left. Try to get it as close to the bunkers as possible length wise (keep it in the centre though - don't go dicing with danger) then it should be much easier. If you have cut the corner and only just made it over the out of bounds area then you will have to lay up, again, the same principle applies, get it close but keep it central then chip over the bunkers. If you try to brave or stupid (hindsight will dictate which one you will be) and you decide to go for the green in 2 assuming that you have found the left hand side of the fairway, you will have to take it over the pond and try to land it on a relatively small and narrow green. It's not for the feint hearted.
GREEN OVERVIEW :
It's a relatively small enough green but it's got plenty of ridges on it to make sure that you have to pay attention to the putts. There is a slight basin as you walk onto the green that leads to the high point of the green which is in the very middle. It seems to flow off downhill to the other two corner after that.
OVERALL TIPS :
You can take a risk with the drive but don't be silly with the 2nd. Lay up unless you want to go fishing. Once you lay up it's not over yet. It's a tricky chip/iron over the bunkers/pond onto the small enough green. Keep an eye on the slopes but if you get a par here walk off happy.
