OUT OF BOUNDS :
All the way up left over the ditch is out of bounds. Make sure you keep right because it does come into play here.
BUNKERS :
None
TREES :
Up towards the green on the left there are a few small trees to contend with. They aren't anything to worry unduely about but they aren't to be ignored either.
TEE SHOT :
Distance is essential on your drive here. This hole could be a real tough slog if you don't get every yard out of your tee shot. It's an uphill slightly blind shot that needs to be kept straight and long. If you are playing into the wind here it will be a seriously tough shot and you may need a low chaser to make sure you don't end up with a horribly long 2nd shot. Plans go out the window here really so judge it best yourself when you put the tee in the ground.
2nd SHOT :
If you are playing into the wind you will more than likely not have a shot the green for your second so really the option is to try to get as close to leave you with a decent shot to the green with your 3rd shot. If the wind is behind then you may have a crack at it. It will have to be a very accurate and powerful whack from here to get it on the putting surface even with the wind assisting as it's a very narrow target to find. You may be better advised to lay up although as the margin for error grows less the closer you get to the green. If you play this strongly and sensibly you'll have a nice shot to give yourself a chance of a birdie or a par.
APPROACH SHOT :
Depending on the wind you could be left with a shortish shot or even a long iron to the green for your 3rd. Don't get too nervous here, you need to make sure you have the yardage correct as there's still a slight uphill gradient that doesn't look much but does take a few yards off your capacity. Play this with a bit of power and have a go at the pin. There's still a par up for grabs here with a good shot but you need to get the distance.
GREEN OVERVIEW :
This is a very narrow little green that's difficult to find from distance. Even from a middle distance it can take a good accurate shot to find the green. The green slopes away at the sides and on the left there's a steep enough drop off towards the fringe. You won't be left with a tap in unless you are within a foot or two here. Don't get greedy.
OVERALL TIPS :
Similar to the 5th and 6th on the front 9 this is a hole that is really a war of attrition waiting to happen. It's a slog all the way. It's uphill, more than likely into the sun and also into the wind. You need to get as much distance out of every shot here or else you'll feel pretty foolish hacking up the fairway without too much reward. This hole will test your patience as you may get frustrated here if you don't get any reward for hard work. Remember you only have to play the hole once and it's here as a momentum buster. You need to get a decent drive off and get as much out of it as possible. The second has to be plastered also to leave you with a distance that will allow you sufficient control to stay on the narrow green. If you can sneak a par here you can be pretty happy with yourself especially if you're playing into a headwind so don't let the yardage fool you. This is a tough par 5 especially in windy conditions.
