BACK TEES DISTANCE : 321 YDS
CLUB TEES DISTANCE : 303 YDS
LADIES TEES DISTANCE : 271 YDS
PAR : 4
SI : 9
WATER :
None
OUT OF BOUNDS :
Don't go over the green to much or you are onto the road and try to stay out of the houses that you can see from the tee. Broken windows are costly these days you know.
BUNKERS :
None
TREES :
From the tee you can see a clump of trees that you've already tackled from the 16th on your left and some more on your right that you will be tackling on your first shot. Once you clear the trees on your right that a bit further forward than the other ones you are clear down the right hand side while up the left they keep on going although there is a gap for about 50 yards before the green then there are 2 nice trees greenside on the left.
TEE SHOT :
The further you can blast the ball the better chance you will have of getting on the green with your second as that will be a steep uphill shot. You need to try to take on the narrow alley that you can see towards the middle of the fairway. It's a tight shot but if you are going to go offline miss it right and make sure it's not heading for someone's head on the 8th fairway.
APPROACH SHOT :
Get your climbing gear on here, this is going to be a steep uphill shot all the way to the green. Try to take this in as high as you can and you need to get it spot on as if it runs at all it's over the back because the green flattens out at the top of the hill. It would be risky to try to chase the shot up the hill as it would need some serious speed to get up to the green and even once it got there unless you played it perfect it would probably fly out over the back. Watch out for the trees on the left although if you're feeling lucky sometimes a kind bounce can save a lost ball and end up with an easy putt as the next shot.
GREEN OVERVIEW :
It's easy to guess where the slopes are here but the green slopes down the hill. It's fairly steep for the first section of the green but the green does level out in relative terms after that with a few ridges added in for good measure. If you get a downhill putt here it could be a marble staircase kind of shot so take extra care with this one.
OVERALL TIPS :
Be brave with your tee shot here and give it a whack. You need as much distance as your arms can muster for the important second shot here. The hole isn't that long in distance terms but then again, if Everest was laid flat you could jog it in less than an hour. I know the comparisons are relatively absurd but the principle is there, don't worry about the yardage here as it's flat out uphill all the way. Take that into account and try to take it in high in order to stop it dead on the green. Don't go planning to spinn it backwards or you could be taking your next shot from further back. Once you get on the green just make sure that you don't attack any downhill putt especially if it's in the front portion and if you can walk out of here with a nice par, take it, cross the road, and get ready for the last.
