OUT OF BOUNDS :
If you go well left here you'll be on the beach so try to avoid that.
BUNKERS :
After the last hole you get a slight respite on this one. There's just the 2 of the traps here. Both of these are greenside beauties. One is on the front left of the green below the putting surface and the second is the second is slightly higher and on the front right. The right hand bunker isn't too bad actually. You should be able to see the pin here. The same can't be said for the left hand bunker. You'll need a periscope to get a view of where you're hitting it and a rope to get out of it.
TREES :
None
TEE SHOT:
This is a beauty. If you haven't been here before you'll just be looking at a hill and it's a hit and hope job. The tip I would give here is to keep it aimed on the middle or left hand side of the fairway area that's visible. Not too far left mind as you'll be wanting a Sherpa to accompany you back to the fairway once you've taken the shot. This is a completely blind drive. I would advise you to click on the hilltop pictures on the right hand side to get a bigger view so you can plot a course. If you lose track of the ball over this hill you could end up anywhere so you could do well employing a spotter to climb the hill and have a look at where the balls end up.
APPROACH SHOT:
Assuming that you've managed to cleared the top of the hill depending on how far you've gone gives you a few different options when hitting your second. If you just get to the crest of the hill then you've your second blind shot of the hole. Don't worry, the hole's a dogleg left so aim for the seagulls and hope for the best. Seriously though, take out a sand wedge and lay up if you don't have a view of the green as you're in trouble straight away. You won't have a clue where the ball is if you miss the green. Should you be lucky enough to have a nice view of the green get ready for an adrenaline rush as you aim for the green over the dunes and the large plateau before the green. If you think you've hit a nice shot but end up just short on the left because you've aimed to miss the bunker on the right you may have the pleasant surprise of finding the hidden pot bunker on the left. The the troubles begin. Anyway, the green is on top of a serious plateau so make note of that with a drop off at the back of the green also.
GREEN OVERVIEW :
This is a nice dimpled green. You'll need to carve a path in this green to get a chance at this hole if you're not within arms length of the hole. There's the drop off at the front of course but as you move to the back right there's a steep drop off with a swail at the back right. One relatively positive note is that at the very back is an uphill slope so you won't go rolling off if you're lucky enough to find the 6 foot line between 2 downhill dips.
OVERALL TIPS :
Welcome to the first hole that separates the skillfull from the spoofers. It takes a fair amount of balls to take this hole on. You need to blast the tee shot over the hill. Aim for the fairway and hit it as far and accurate as you can. If you're either good or lucky you'll be left with a 2nd shot that needs the accuracy of Robin Hood. Take it high over the small dunes and try to control it enough to land it solidly on the green. If you're going to miss it here miss it right. A handy get out area is around the right hand bunker. Believe you me, there's worse places around this green to end up in. The green is very tricky so don't try to be brave. If you head onto the next here wishing you had chosen matchplay or stableford rather than putting your wages on a strokeplay match then you'll be happy.
