HOLE BY HOLE GUIDE
HOLE 8
BACK TEES DISTANCE : 361 YDS
CLUB TEES DISTANCE : 348 YDS
LADIES TEES DISTANCE : 321 YDS
PAR : 4
SI : 4
WATER :
None
OUT OF BOUNDS :
None as such unless you go a mile left.
BUNKERS :
Just the one front right of the green. If you end up in it you could be in a bit of trouble because the lip is quite steep.
TREES :
There's trees all the way left nad right all the way down the hole with some at the back of the green also.
TEE SHOT :
This is a lovely drive. You can see the hole wind a fair bit below you. Certainly one to be careful with and don't get carried away with the views. Keep it slightly left of centre to give youself an agle to the green and also to take some of the larger trees out of the equation.
APPROACH SHOT :
The hole doglegs to the right so depending on the tee shot you may have a tight shot. Watch out for the tree in front of the green and also the bunker. It's a tricky green to find as it's on a bit of a raised level.
GREEN OVERVIEW :
This is a green that slopes uphill steeply fron the front to the back. There's two levels on this one. The lower plateau is at the front with a higher level that's significantly above the lower one. This is a tricky green if you end up in the wrong half.
OVERALL TIPS :
Welcome to the course across the road and what a way to start. With the views of the whole of this section of the course and the countryside. Don't be distracted though. This is a toughie. A tricky steep downhill drive will test you but if you think that this is the worst of it think again. The fairway snakes around to the left and the green is incredibly difficult to find. It's a narrow green from where you're looking at it on the fairway with a perfectly placed bunker to eat up any stray shots. Once you're on the green then that's only half the job done. Pitch it onto the wrong half of the green and you're in a bit of trouble and looking at a few putts here. If you can get a par here be very happy and do a lap of honour to celebrate. Make sure you don't hold up the group behind though.
