SSS SCORE : 69 (Champ) - 67 (Club) - 69 (Ladies)

HARDEST HOLE :
It's without question the Par 4 5th is the toughest on this course. It's a chore from the moment you step on the tee box to when you eventually pick the ball out of the cup and move on. It's a long par 4 with changes in elevation from a high tee shot into a valley where a pond could catch any short drives and a steep uphill second to a blind green. Add that to the prevailing wind being whipped into your face and you have yourself a very very testing hole that you'll be delighted to see the back of.

EASIEST HOLE :
There are a few of the par 3s and perhaps one of the par 5s that come into this category but in the end it comes down to two of the short par 4 holes. It's between the 3rd and the 10th. They are very short holes where you could really have a go at driving the green but the 10th bags it for me with a little bit more margin for error. If you sneak make any form of a mistake on the 3rd, especially to the left you'll be in trouble, certainly a cliff drop of about a hundred feet does stick in your mind when you're standing on the tee. Add that to the open nature of that hole and really by elimination you are left with the 10th. You may go around here and play holes in less shots from time to time but overall if you were to come back here over and over again you can be reasonably assured that you'll consistently be challenging for a birdie or a par without going to much trouble. It's the 10th that wins for me.

NICEST HOLE :
There are some spectacular views around the course with the rugged 3rd at times awe inspiring with the view down into Chimney Bay and out to the Atlantic Ocean but I'm actually going for the 18th purely because it serves both purposes with a fantastic view from the tee and a great area to drive into. It's a smashing test of your skills and a fantastic finishing hole especially when the weather's favourable. I'm sure others would have their own favourite as there are some beauties out there including the 2nd which has a wonderful green area and pond around with a view of the Atlantic from the green that will get you off to a great round. All in all though it's the finishing 18th that wins it for me.

HARDEST PAR 3 :
This is tough to call. It really depends on the wind. I'll have to go with the prevailing south westerly breeze to make my decision here so I'll go with the 7th. It usually plays right into the wind and it will test you with an uphill appraoch that could see the ball being caught by the wind and taken out of your control. Add that to the nastily positioned bunker and the ditch that runs down the left, the options for the approach are extremely limited so it wins my vote. Throw in the pond at the bottom of the hill in front of the green to gobble any misplaced lay up shots and you really have a tricky par 5.

HARDEST PAR 4 :
This has to be the 5th by a mile. This is a monster of a hole as it plays uphill and usually into the breeze. This will drain you physically and mentally and could be a potential early round killer.

HARDEST PAR 5 :
There are only three par 5s out there so there's not much to choose here but I'll go with the 2nd hole. It's not the longest hole you'll ever play and certainly not the longest par 5 especially with ordinarily a helping breeze behind you but the changes in elevation here, along with the blind tee shot and the chances of making an approach shot from a downslope it does make the task a lot harder. Around the green you have some nasty traps and thick rough that will be very costly if you get embroiled

EASIEST PAR 3 :
Even though it's the lowest stroke indexed hole I do have to say that the 7th is my choice for the easiest par 3 around here. The fact that I landed within a foot of a hole in one probably helps but if you can simply play the distance and take the drop off to the left out of it this becomes relatively straightforward. The fact that it's relatively short makes it easier to control. The 9th and the 16th can be nice in certain conditions also so some of the other par 3s aren't majorly taxing especially if you've a nice wind behind.

EASIEST PAR 4 :
This has to be the 10th as it's also the easiest hole on the course in my opinion. It can be driven in one if you have a big drive but for most it can be reached easily with 2 irons. Either way a half decent drive will leave it within pitch and putt range. It's up to your own ability from there but in general this is a handy enough hole.

EASIEST PAR 5 :
Here I'm going for the 14th. When you are standing on the tee with the wind in your face you would be forgiven for thinking I'm mad but really you are only 2 half decent shots away from a nice shot to the green. Once you can concentrate purely on keeping the ball on the fairway and hitting it well. There's escape routes out the right and unless you go left you won't be in too much trouble. It's tricky and at times can play pretty tough but you can pick up shots here if you play it sensibly.
